About Grace Hill
Engage the City + Make Disciples
Grace Hill wants to love the city of Boston and its people with the love of Jesus. We’re a church in East Boston, sharing our lives and the gospel with our neighbors.

Why “Grace Hill”?
East Boston was made by adding landfill between islands. The neighborhood’s old hills still carry their names: Shay’s Hill, Smith Hill, Camp Hill, and Eagle Hill.
We look forward to taking our place among them, and we want our community to know the grace of God and the good news of Jesus.
Our pastor
Kristian and Mary Anderson
Kristian and Mary met in Brooklyn, New York, where Kristian was born and raised. Married since 2008, they have served churches in New York, Minnesota, Connecticut, and now Boston. They love living their lives on mission wherever God places them.

What we believe
The short version
You don’t have to agree with any of this to come on Sunday. This is what you’ll hear us teach.
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word. It’s what we open, read, and preach from every Sunday.
Jesus
Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again for sinners. He is the center of everything we do.
Grace
We are made right with God by his grace, received through faith. It is a gift, never something we earn.
Mission
Jesus sends his church to make disciples. For us that starts with our neighbors here in East Boston.
Our statement of faith is the same as the Church of the Lutheran Brethren’s.
Our wider family
We didn’t start this alone.
Cultivate New England
A ministry initiative of three New England churches working together to plant churches in New England: Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church, Faith Chapel, and Praise Christian Fellowship.
Church of the Lutheran Brethren
The CLB is a family of over 120 congregations in the United States and Canada, with 1,500 daughter congregations in Cameroon, Chad, Japan, and Taiwan. It exists to serve congregations in their obedience to the Great Commission.
